TEFRA (Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982) gives states the option to make Medicaid (SoonerCare in Oklahoma) benefits available to children with physical or mental disabilities who would not ordinarily be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits because of their parent's income or resources. This option allows children who are eligible for institutional services to be cared for in their homes. Email info@therapeds.co for the application to apply for TEFRA.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get services for my child?
The first step is to acquire a referral from your child’s doctor for an OT evaluation. Once the referral is received, one of our therapists will schedule an evaluation. The evaluations take about 60 minutes to perform. The therapist will typically take one to two weeks to write up the evaluation report. The report is then sent to the insurance company for authorization. This entire process can take from 4 weeks to 6 weeks.
How long can I expect my child to be in therapy?
The length of therapy will be dependent on the goals you and your child's therapist determine. Typically, a therapist will want to meet with your child once or twice a week for a few months to a year.
How do I know if my child needs services?
Here are a few signs your child may benefit from occupational/speech services.

Can my child be treated if she is at daycare?
Absolutely. At TheraPeds, we try to accommodate each family according to their individual circumstances and needs. We offer services in the client’s natural environments; whether it is his or her home, school, or after school care facility.
Are all services covered by insurance?
No. Each insurance policy is different. It is best to contact your insurance provider to determine which services will be covered.
